Steve Wong has been in the landscape and horticulture profession for over 30 years. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia in Horticulture and a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from his studies at both the University of Oregon in the States and the University of Guelph in Ontario.

Steve's horticulture background results in the right plants being chosen for a particular site so the landscape will look good for many years to come. In addition to being a expert in the selection and use of plants in the landscape, he is equally skilled at the design of the hard elements of the landscape such as retaining walls, driveways, patios, lighting, water features and pools. He is skilled and experienced at landscaping of apartment complexes after membrane replacement projects.

Steve is intimately involved in all aspects of a project, from conceptual design to working drawings, construction and project closeout. His attention to client needs, budget limitations, maintenance issues/costs as well as aesthetics results in a quality landscape project.

Steve is involved in numerous professional organizations.  He is a Registered Landscape Architect (#402) with the provincially recognized BC Society of Landscape Architect and nationally with the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.  Steve was vice-chair on the Advisory Design Panel (ADP) with the District of North Vancouver, which reviews and provides recommendations to development projects going to council. Previously he was with the ADP for the City of New Westminster for two terms.  Currently he is on the Board of Directors with the BC Society of Landscape Architects.

Prior to starting SW Landscape Architects Ltd, Steve was senior Landscape Architect with the City of Vancouver Park Board responsible for many of the City's key park and landscape developments. Steve's initial training in horticulture resulted in positions as Head of the Practical Horticulture program at Thompson Rivers University, Plant Nursery Specialist with the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Plant Health Specialist with the City of Vancouver.
